Additional Strategies
Reading Strategies are listed in stages. The purpose for each of the strategies
is stated to assist the teacher to make the purpose of the activity clear to
the students and discuss the learning intended. All the strategies need to
be taught to the students before asking them to participate independently.
By introducing a particular strategy to a group or the class first you can
become aware of the strengths and weakness of your group and teach skills the
students will need or provide scaffolds that will ensure success.
